During the offseason, tragedy struck when the Mariners lost Greg Halman. An inspiration to so many teammates, family members and fans, the Mariners made a special shirt to celebrate his life. The shirt is orange because Halman was a native of the Netherlands. In Dutch, it says, “broer voor het leven,” which translates to “brother for life.” His name and number are on the back along with “No Grind/No Shine” on the sleeve.
At Safeco Field, the fair is always in town. At Fair Territory, located just where it says it is (in fair territory, of course), fans can enjoy their fair favorites such as corn dogs, funnel cakes, churros, and even fried Twinkies. For $6, the funnel cakes are a fan favorite.
The Safeco Field speed pitch is located in the center field concourse. Both the catcher and matter are mannequins, but it’s okay to hit the batter since he is wearing a Yankees uniform. This gentleman clocked in at a speedy 60 mph.
